so my friend believes this

So......... if you put certain things onto the SSD or fill it up too much the memory kind of deteriates and breaks internally...... Did you know that? Mr. I know everything about computers

Or becomes unstable

Tell me is this true? I'm pretty sure it's not but I've been wrong

Cheers :D

Technically it's true....although the write limit is stupidly high--the 840 evo is rated at like 100tb+

If you fill it up too much the performance can indeed deteriorate but it will not physically break or anything. It will just physically be less able the more you write

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Yes I know that performance decreases but it doesn't become unstable right?

Full ssds usually (again "usually", there are exceptions) dont lose much performance, because they have spare area, that is always "empty".

And no, you cannot degrade/destroy or whatever with certain files. SSD simply doesnt know what u write to it.
