Hi guys, I am wondering is it better to get a card and the a water block or just get a GPU with a water block on it already. Like the ARES III. Def not getting that. :( Too much money. Anyway, if so, is there any good cards with water blocks out there? Like a price range from 200 euro to about 400 euro.If possible under 300.

I would be greatfull for any help. ;)

Bulky,

I don't know of any personally.

But getting any card and slapping a Kraken G10 on it is the most cost effective way of going about it, thinking of doing that myself.

But the only other option to my knowledge in that price range is getting a mid tier card with a custom water block on it. But you would get better performance from a higher tier card with no water block.

970 with water block is worse than a 980 without one in terms of performance.

If you are talking about cards like the Asus Poseidon, you are better off getting a real full cover block for it. If you are talking about the EVGA cards like the Hydro Copper Classified, those already have a full cover EK block on them when you buy it, but cannot be used without a full custom loop.

I'm getting a 360mm rad for my CPU so I decided I'm going to water cool my GPU too! My PC overheats ALOT.....

If you are already planning a loop, I would certainly look at the EVGA Hydro Copper 980. It will be a bit cheaper than an air cooled card and a GPU waterblock.

A kraken g10 coupled with an Asetek AIO is pretty good, and a lot less money/maintenance. the only thing about going the G10 route is to buy a graphic card that already has a backplate to help keep memory chips from de-soldering and VRM heatsink(s).

But I'm making a loop for my CPU too. I figured I might go over kill on the rad and connect my GPU too.

What I found was for 1,200 euro. Thats a little over my budget.

Holy Snap! Them launch prices. That is steep. Where are you located?

That hasn't come out yet, but I've seen pictures of what it's going to look like and it looks really nice.

Also very expensive

I'm in Ireland.... I looked up "EVGA Hydro Copper 980" on ebay.ie

1200 euros... I converted that on google and that would be 1700 dollars here in Canada...

this is interesting. even if you went with a much cheaper option, you will probably still be voltage locked without a custom bios. no surprise there though
