I was looking at getting a mechanical keyboard and had been looking at the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 model. I had liked that one allot but was wondering if anyone had any other opinions on it? I've been hearing mixed thoughts on Razer products.

Requirements that I would like in a keyboard is for it to be a full keyboard and with blue switches and backlit.

Blackwidows were, maybe, slightly dodgy. It's very hard to find a fair opinion on Blackwidows. Especially in places that have an overly-extreme aversion to iOne keyboards (Blackwidow's OEM).

I will say that I saw more complaints and problems posted about the original Blackwidow than any other keyboard, but the same doesn't hold true for the 2013 versions as of yet. You'd probably be perfectly happy with one.

Other possibilities:

The aforementioned Ducky Shine II

CM Storm Trigger

CM Storm TK (not full-size, but includes all the functionality of one)

Rosewill RK-9100

Max Nighthawk x7

Tesoro Durandal Ultimate G1NL

I have a leopold currently and it is rock solid. It does not have LED though so meh. I'm planning on buying a Ducky very soon. Good company. Nice led effect. Clickity clacks. There are an assortment of LED color choices over at tigerimports.

Here's an example.

I have found that Razer products tend to have more issues than other brands. Although this is just my personal experience. My top three brands would be Ducky, Filco and Das Keyboard. The Ducky Shine is a great choice although just like all peripherals it comes down to personal preference. Once you have made your choice come back and tell us what you did and what you think : )

I do like some of the Ducky keyboards. Not sure of which one in particular with.

But as for their quality of keyboards, any comments? The reason it is a challenge for me to pick out a keyboard is because if I am going to invest 100+ on a keyboard, I want it to last a long time.

The Coolermaster QuickFire TK is a budget keyboard so the arrow keys, del keys, and numpad are on the same pad and you can switch between them.

hmmm...

I have tried the Blackwidow and had liked it for the time period that I had used it. I just was curious of other options out there within that price range and what people had thought about it...Decisions decisions lol.
