WiiU System Update. Now support for folders

Console players, Nintendo released a new WiiU firmware which adds a few cool features.

The new firmware features:

It includes the most asked features: Folders to the home screen.

It also allows you to customize the quick lunch menu.

And can now display the quick lunch menu from the GamePad TV Remote.

 

Version 5.2.0 U:

Released September 29th, 2014

Changes to the Wii U Menu:

  • Folders can now be created in the Wii U Menu to hold and organize software icons
  • A Download Management icon has been added to the Wii U Menu
Changes to Quick Start Menu:
  • The Quick Start Menu will now display when the Wii U is powered on from the Wii U GamePad TV Remote
  • Options have been added to Power Settings that allow users to hide certain software from the Quick Start Menu
Changes to the HOME Menu:
  • The design and layout of the HOME Menu has been updated
Changes to the Nintendo eShop:
  • Disabled usage of characters not used when redeeming Nintendo eShop cards (O, I, Z, etc.)
Improvements to system stability and usability:
  • Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience

LOL It would be cool actually, but I think the weak power of the console won't give you much. :)

Cool, I knew about the folders but I didn't realise it also added the ability to change the apps on the quick start menu. Means that the recently used apps won't always be useless crap like system settings and so on. Cheers for the heads up.

Nice, I hate having to scroll on any touch devices. Always cramp up all my apps on my phone into folders so I can have everything I need 95% of the time in the same screen

Neat.

 

The Wii U has become a console that I am actually really interested in
since Nintendo's excellent show at this year's E3. Before that I held no
interest in the console at all - but I found myself interested in literally
every single game they showed off at the event. :D
