I was orginally going to just buy an aftermarket mcp655 top along with a seperate tube res, but it seems like a better deal to just get the mcp655 along with a tube res top. I was wondering if anyone would reccomend this res, if not do you have any in mind? I can't have it too big nor expensive, and I'd like to stick with a tube res as I think they look cool.

Thanks

Me: Yeah I just really can't get my H220 working again, I've tried everything that was suggested in the forum.

Brian (Swiftech Support): Hmm, have you tried slapping it?

its a pretty small tube res...and ek is an awesome brand...also you should know with these res the res feeds directly into the pump but once circulated it will come back in to the pump top...unless you use the fillport as the inlet...heh some people dont like that....

there are also these http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12199/ex-pmp-122/Bitspower_D5_MCP655_Extreme_Pump_Mod_Top_V2_-_Acetal_BP-D5TOPP2EX-BK.html

where you can attach a tube top to it...from the 4 screws in the corners.. :)

EK components are great. Also saw someone of the well known modders/watercooled cp builders on youtube recommend it.

I don't fulling understand what you mean? Also it's too expensive for me to buy that plus a tube top

Just get the EK one, if you don't have a massive cooling loop. You could also replace the tube itself with a larger one at a later point in time.

singulatiry computers does some masterpieces!!

Yes, Singularity Computers is probably the culprit, since he is the only modder, to whom i'm subscribed to currently. Love his builds, actually got me back into modding again.

I can recommend this pump top/res.

it comes with a mounting bracket to screw it into 2 M4 holes (You need to drill these into something, like a drive cage)

Oh cool, I'm going to try to use double side adhesive instead of screws, not sure how it's going to work. How easy is it to fill?

(Ignoring all the other replies (sorry))

That is a good tube res. You can buy a longer cylinder for that res if you want to make it longer.

tube res meh, bay res ftw

Well, if you like the sound... I think it's cool for a show case, but not for everyday working.

That doesn't make it invalid :P

Probably could have just quoted my post (#5) if you had read them :D

PS. @Owen, what was your budget again?

I'm on my phone and can't figure out how to quote so hopefuly you're following the post :p Excluding the pump its self I'd like to not spend more than 70ish on a res/pump top, preferably less

No worries, i auto follow all topics i reply too.

Okay, just askin because i sometimes get some great offers on pumptop + res combos, i'll look around.

But honestly, i would just get the EK D5 X-Res for myself. Also there is a 140mm version, if you didn't know.

Mine does't make noise that one is not in a loop so runs way faster obviously max speed.

oh ok good I thought that sounds was odd. I prefer the look of tube res's better anyway, though.
