Radiation from monitors?

Go to solution Solved by Elbstrand,

LED/LCD monitors only emit ultra low levels of UV radiation as far as i know.

I know CRT produces some sort of radiation (beta radiation, i think) that was stopped by your skin. so most of the time it wasn't harmful. How about LCD(with LED backlight) displays? Do they produce some sort of radiation? Is it harfmul?

Not that i know of, also there are entities in most countries to test for bad radiation.

As long as it's not radiating green, superman isn't feeling weak next to you, and you're not in a near-death situation, you should be fine.

Also, watch out for people growing tentacles as that's a sign they may be mutating from the radiation...or they might have spent too much time on the internet.

Interesting comment from someone who title them self "Helpful Member". Don't be patronizing. Some household appliances do emit radiation, it's a sensible question.

This reply isn't really helpful. And I hope you have a high school diploma. Alpha Beta and Gamma radiation are something you learn in high school chemistry. CRT and Tube TV's produce Beta radiation that is stopped by a piece of paper or the top layer of your skin. I don't know what kind of radiation LCD monitors produce so I asked. Radiation is normal and not all radiations are harmful.

Just to let everyone know... everything in life, including a tree emits radiation. And no, it's not because of the nuke bomb or nuclear power plants and all that.

Radiation is part of life. It plays a role in converting things, with a mixture of other factors, like pressure, heat and so on, to form metals, or other resources.

That is why, we, and all living things has adapted to live with the radiation level of Earth, emitted by us, nature, and the sun.
