My friend just upgraded his computer with a new CPU and motherboard.

He starts the computer, motherboard displays a screen for a split second, then the windows

is loading screen appears, a few seconds later it blue screens and crashes.

He replaced an AMD A6-5400k APU  with - AMD FX-6300 CPU / stock CPU cooler

  and an Asus A55BM-E - with - Gigabyte 78LMT-S2

He installed OEM windows 7 recently because of the not genuine message popping up constantly.

It was running fine up until the new motherboard and CPU were installed.

Seems like he got it running, thanks for the help.

Check out the guide in my sig. Shows a easier way to get it working without having to re-install Windows.

I'd rather go the easy way and just reinstall my OS. I will keep this in mind, but I probably won't use it. thanks anyways

Thanks, sadly he had already started reinstalling when you posted, but I will keep that bookmarked to try in the future!
