Mouse sensitivity randomly changing

The mouse in question is a Logitech g400s that had worked fine for almost half a year, this started happening relatively recently...

 

When in a game or even something as simple as surfing, I notice my mouse sensitivity jumping all over the place, as if I were pressing the DPI buttons.

Sometimes it slows to a crawl with a ton of delay and sometimes it's all over the place giving me probably 5-10x my normal sensitivity. It lasts anywhere from a fraction of a second upwards to 3-4 seconds.

 

Everything else is fine, i get no frame drops or anything like that. There's nothing wrong with the mouse either, I've tested it on my laptop.

I've also tried plugging it in all my USB 2 and 3 ports with no effect. Unfortunately I do not own another mouse to try in this rig.

 

 

Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions?

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

I've just had a look turn off something called Automatic Game Detection in Logitech Gaming Software

Never installed anything for it, just plugged it in and went with it and it worked fine.

 

I just remembered I do have a mouse fix though, removing any software acceleration from Windows that I installed while i still used my old mx518.

I suppose i'll try reinstalling both that and drivers and see if it helps.
