I think g skill ares and team vulcan are good and cheap ram modules you should check out. As for your question the diference is mostly the heatsink the ripjaws have a better heatsink but the performance shouldnt be any different

 

I dont believe the ares series has DDR4 modules yet - only seen DDR3

 

Would the value series be as overclockable as the ripjaws despite the lack of a heat spreader? I believe some companies will take their worst overclocking modules and brand them "value", and the rest get a heat spreader thrown on them and branded as higher end ram. I'm not sure if this is also the case with gskill?
