The PC I have is over 7 years old so I can say without a doubt I need a new one. I want to build one that can handle Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 on max settings along with some other games I may play as well such as Skyrim, the new Gauntlet, maybe D3, and hopefully Demon's Souls if they ever decide to put it on steam. Here are the parts I'm going with:

Graphics card: GTX 760 or R9 280X

CPU: FX 8320

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P

RAM: 8gb

HDD: 1tb

SSD: 128gb

PSU: SeaSonic M12II 620

Tower: Rosewill R5

I want to ask others who are pc building savvy if I made the right choices for a great PC at a reasonable cost.

for gaming you don't need more than four cores on a CPU, however if you render a lot or use photoshop, then i would recommend more cores

I found most of the items on newegg but a few I didn't likw the case and cpu fan.  Some of those items looks european and I live in the United States if that makes it harder to pick things. :(

well, the case is pretty much always personal prefernce, the only thing you have to look is, if your motherboard and your cpu cooler fits in. Instead of the CPU fan you can take a be quiet! Cooler for around 40-50$. Here is the case on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/NANOXIA-Silence-schwarz-Gehaeuse-Tower/dp/B008J1I0I6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1411947994&sr=8-1&keywords=Nanoxia+Deep+Silence+1
