On the website I am looking at it says this

slots with thumbscrews and room for cards up to 430mm long (300mm with drive cage)

It will fit. The top card will clear it, as it's higher than the drive cage.

Yes but that is with the drive cage removed. I think

The hard drive cage is lower than the PCIe slot on most motherboards. And Corsair wouldn't measure GPU clearance with the drive cage removed if the drive cage isn't removable.

So there's your answer. You can remove the drive cage. What's the fuss about?

 

And based on the images, a long GPU on the first PCIe slot will clear the cage anyway

I need to know if I can just remove the SSD bay.

You cant although you can remove the entire cage
