Razer Green Switches

Go to solution Solved by Damikiller37,

I own a Cherry MX Brown keyboard and I have tried the Razer Green switches in store and they felt pretty good but I would disagree and say that MX Browns had more of a feedback than them. For me they felt really similar to MX Blues and that is what they are supposed to replace so I don't know why Razer even bothered and if a minimal difference between them was worth their effort.

EDIT: Also G710+ has an O-ring mod so that could have made the MX Browns feel more mushy than normal.

So I was at Best Buy earlier and tried out a couple of mechanical keyboards. I tried the G710+ which I thought I'd really like with the brown switches, it turned out they felt mushy like a membrane. It wasn't satisfying at all and didn't have any feedback. Then I tried the Black widow Ultimate and love the switches. I'm just worried about quality control because they're made in China. So what are the Cherry equivalents? And what are some keyboard recommendations? I'd prefer a 10-key but it doesn't matter. Thanks.

Just buy blues. Thats basically what they are. Razer products tend to break, at least for me.

As for quality control, I wouldn't be surprised if it is very good.

Blues are the Cherry counterparts to Razer "Greens". I would get Blues, since they're manufactured in Germany.

They're cheaper to buy than Cherry ones. The G710+ they had on display had no tactical feedback at all I don't know why.

I've heard that K70's LEDs die pretty often. Is this true?

Well, if your not buying the new K70 RGB They'll eventually die. Considering all of the implementations of LEDS on mechanical switches were the same until recently.

Non have died on my Razer Blackwidow (2013 edition, Cherry MX Blues)

I haven't heard that before though, so im not sure. But I would say that it would be equally likely that they would die on any mechanical keyboard

As Damikiller had stated, the G710+ comes with orings installed, when you depress the key all the way down, the oring dampens the impact when you bottom out. Some like it, I don't as it makes it feel even mushier.

So, a normal brown switch isn't that mushy?
