This is a problem that has been haunting me for at least half a year now.

While using my computer, my screen just hang for a while and it stays there.

Here's some scenario explanation.

  1. Playing Game
Screen frozen, so is audio. Leaving it alone for some time (at least 10 seconds), BSOD.
  2. Browsing Internet
Screen frozen, audio still playing if I was watching a video or playing music. Audio stops working after a while (at least 10 seconds). Nothing happens after that. Just frozen.
  3. Browsing Internet (BSOD)
Same as above (#2) up until the final stage. BSOD.

After reboot, sometimes there's no screen. Sometimes there is. Happens randomly.

When this happened several times back, I tried to reseat everything in my system and it worked after that.

It has been a while after that (several weeks), and the problem comes back again.

Next time, I took out the video card and wiping off the dust from the fan blades and plugged it back.

And now, it comes back again.

I suspect it's because of the video card.

Otherwise, it might be the motherboard.

What do you guys think?

Don't have any spare video card and motherboard to test but I want your opinion or if there's anyone experienced similar case before.

I've contacted Sapphire about this problem before.

They've asked me to get the video card back to the retailer so they can test with their hardware but I don't think that'll be good as the problem is difficult to reproduce.

Could be any of the components to be honest. Try running without the graphics card for a while. The best way to diagnose is to use spare parts, so try to get hold of some from a friend.
