I'm just not the right person for this type of device. However I know of people who would love something like this.

It's faster, has more features everywhere you look, and if you want to upgrade/replace something, it's possible and easy.

People don't buy the LG Chromebase for a feature-rich operating system though, take that into account.

I wasn't talking about OS features, but better hardware; a lot of expansion and connectivity such as USB 3.0, more RAM, more and faster storage, a way better monitor (1080p 21.5" IPS), and other stuff I'm forgetting. Yes it needs more room, but I doubt you can't fit the Elite 110 or similar low end itx case on your desk/floor (there are a lot of SLIM ones I'm not including).

I do understand chromebooks, I think they are neat, portable and get the job done; but for desktop building the thing is still more practical.

I agree, a self-built system will certainly offer them more options as far as hardware goes, but for the majority who just want a solution now and don't want to bother with building it, I think it's a great solution seeing as most households don't need the performance of i5's and i7's in their desktop, and don't need the majority of Windows-specific applications. For the OP, if he's considering buying it I'd strongly recommend building a system and running a Linux distro. We're on a PC enthusiast forum are we not? ;)

If we're just objectively commenting on the product as a whole, then yes it's a good product that suites a lot of peoples needs, but I doubt it's suitable for the majority on this forum.

Yeah, I see this being a decent product to recommend to parents and relatives who won't use the horsepower and that just want to browse the internet , send mails and enjoy social media. But if you are my friend I will definitely not recommend this for your use :)
