Hello

I recently brought my first mechanical keyboard a CM storm quickfire TK mx blue (yay!), but I'm having some driver issues with it and would love it if someone could help.

The keyboards itself works perfectly. I have plugged it into several other computers and have had no issues with detecting the keyboard so it isn't the keyboard.

But my gaming rig refuses to recognise it as a keyboard.

Windows tells me that I have plugged in an "unknown device" and that it needs troubleshooting.

When I troubleshoot it gives me an ''error 43'' message, and tells me that my driers are up to date

(the other computers auto recognised the keyboard without any need to troubleshoot)

cooler master doesn't have any drivers on their website(it's an PnP keyboard and shouldn't need it.)

I have emailed their support. but they have yet to respond...

any help is welcome.

system:

crosshair v -z

8350

16 gb hyper-x memory

xfx 7970

all the latest drivers

win 7 install is about 2 months old.

What other KB did you use..?..If it had a separate drive installed..than remove that..your TK should be seen in the control panel as a standard HID device..If you have multiple entries under the hardware tab..try and remove those entries. You are right that it is a PnP KB..but there are a few hardware buttons on the KB to disable certain keys and roll over function , I wonder if it is causing problems with Windows PnP detection..try to reset the KB to a plain setup..ie.Windows key ON..Media keys ..OFF..etc.

Your best effort is the easiest thing to give to someone else..

the thing is that I can't even get it to power on. so there is no way to disable some settings.

when I plug it in it shows up as an ''unknown device" but does nothing.

The backlight and the lock lights up when I plug it into other PCs but on this one... nothing.

What I am thinking is : if it works OK in other systems and will not work in your gaming system than suspect the gaming system {MB setup or software setup} of the error and not the KB. Check with ASUS not Coolermaster.

Use the USB located near the top..closest to the PS/2 ..If it is the same {no lights etc.}..then shut down and use a USB 3..IF you get lights and it works..but gives the Windows error..than suspect Windows

Try a different KB and check your BIOS for USB support options..

Have you seen any other troubles with any other USB peripherals on your 'Z..?

Your best effort is the easiest thing to give to someone else..

no other troubles only with this specific keyboard.

have tried other usb ports, and turned off and on all the usb and legacy settings in the bios.

it probably is something with the motherboard-keyboard combo that screws it up. But it's a CM keyboard so i figured they might know

I'm having a similar problem, I'm actually using my keyboard right now. However, I can only use it with a different cable than the one supplied. Yet, the braided cable works with everything else. When I use them together windows just shows it constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. Any ideas? I have an ASRock 990FX mobo. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, I really don't want to have to send this back as it costs me money AND I lose the MX blues for even longer...

Same problem here, i also got a asus 990fx motherboard. I tested i with another cable in my laptop, and found that N-key roll-over was enabled all time, maybe that is the problem?

Another thing most times i start my pc i get a error message(the american megetrends one) because there is a error with my cpu fan. But in that message there is listed all the usb devices that are connected to the pc, and oddly enough the kb is on that list. But the kb is still not powered.
