need help picking a cpu

Im thinking of either the 4790k or the 4930k also what would be the best mother board to suit this two cpus i wanted to do a complete asus theme .. like an rog theme but i can look at other options as well any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What will you use the PC for? And the 4930K is outdated.

4930K is last generation and would be a big step down from a 4790K unless you needed six slower cores with hyperthreading. You could get the 5930K. The price difference for the cheapest 8GB RAM and a compatible motherboard is about £45

What are you going to do with it? For more work-oriented tasks and applications you'll usually benefit from a 4930K due to the fact that it's a hexacore.

It's hard to say when it comes to gaming, but I'd say that the 4790K would be a safer pick due to its higher clock-speed coupled with the improvements Haswell brings with it.

 

What's you budget? If you want the most for your money, I can definitely recommend the ASUS Z97-AR. A decent motherboard compared to its price if you ask me.
If you have the money to spend, you can take a look at the ASUS Z97-Deluxe or maybe the Maximus VII HERO.

I was gonna do slight video editing and video rendering or i was thinking i might be able to use the multiple cores but since im mostly gonna be using this pc build for gaming i might go for the 4cores also is the hero good i was looking at that and the formula any help or should i go for the new 5960x i think thats what its called
