Gaming headset for fps

Go to solution Solved by MayflowerElectronics,

Hi guys again :)

I have read the sticky (now) and I understand that I need

Headphone over the ear close (active cancelation could be nice) with a budget around 300$ (not 1000$)

Thanks and sorry for all the mass this threat created

I'd grab some DT 770's. A700x and a900x is also an option.

HI Guys

I want to buy a good headset for FPS gaming

For what I understand that for fps it's good to have 5.1 or even 7.1 but on every forum I see people suggest not to buy a gaming headset just to buy a good headset form an audio company like sony etc..

So my question is pretty simple if you are a fps gamer and you want to buy over the ear headphones/headset for around 300$ (It could be more but not 1000$), what would you pick ?

Thanks a lot

Yet another vote for the HX Cloud, I have one myself and it's one of the best headset for gaming, movies and music, in the 80USD to 100USD price range that is. ;)  Hell, because of it, I'd felt that my mobo audio weren't up to scratch and have since installed soundcards in all my systems.

Oh god...the recommendations on here...

OP - I REALLY suggest you read the sticky at the top of the audio forum.

As for a suggestion for headphones pick up something open. HE-400's, DT 990's or AKG K612's are good headphones to look into.

Pick up a blue snowflake or mod-mic 4.0 for your mic.

Well, you don't have to get snotty about it....  OP DID say headset, NOT headphones, so we focus on that.  Anyway, since an expert aka industry affiliate is here, I'm outta here. <_<

BTW, you may be an industry affiliate, but with THAT kind of attitude, I'm most likely to ignore you....

Hes not being snotty about it. If anything your response was twice as snotty as his was. Hes saying with a budget of $300 (or even better $1000 as in the OP), a headset is kind of a waste and you can get something ALOT better. like a DT880 with an O2/ODAC. With a budget of $300 or more you can have a way better sound setup than just a headset.

or, you could always just get headphones and a mic...

Admittedly, I'd missed the part about his budget, either that or he had edited his original post. Either way, my bad.....if he's willing to go up to 1k USD, the sky's the limit I guess. BTW, I'd have responded more amicably had he said something like, "Hey guys, he has a budget of 300USD to 1000USD, I'm not sure HX Cloud (or any gaming headset for the matter) would be the way to go given that budget". I'd have slapped myself silly and agreed with that....

There's such a thing as net etiquette, you be nice and I'll be just as nice back, Show some attitude, and I'd be in your face about it. Regardless, not gonna look at this thread anymore since there are audio experts like him, and perhaps you, here to advise OP.
