Hey Guys,

first time trying to get a PC build going, not 100% sure what i am doing, thoughts and inputs appreciated!

Main purpose is gaming

things i am curios about are:

Am i missing anything?

could i do things better?

do i need another fan heat sink?

SSD?

am i bottle necking?

does it all work?

is there any point/ can i overclock?

How "good" is this, what setting could i play on?

This is the whole build except PSU:

Intel i5-4460 3.2GHz (3.4GHz Turbo) 4 Cores 6MB Cache LGA1150 CPU
MSI Z97M-G43 mATX LGA1150, 3xDDR3, PCI-E, SATA3, USB3.0, HDMI/DP/DVI/D-SUB
Corsair Vengeance Pro Series - 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600MHz C9 (CMY16GX3M2A1600C9B) - Blue
WD 4TB Black Series (WD4003FZEX) SATA III 7200RPM 64MB 3.5" Internal HDD
Thermaltake Black Versa H24 Mid Tower Case ( USB3.0 ) or already owned Cooler Master 335
MSI GTX 970 4GB Gaming Graphics Card

All input is appreciated :) Thanks heaps

make your build here! http://pcpartpicker.com/

maybe get a i5 4690k

only need 8gb ram for gaming

SSD is amazing just buy a 128gb one it will make your life amazing

overclock on K cpu's

you could play almost everything at 1080p on ultra/max

Yes Yes Legalize Gay Marriage sure, but have you ever considered Weaponizing Gay?

CPU: I5 4690 3.5ghz || MOBO: MSI B85-G43 Gaming Board || RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengance Pro - Red || GPU: Gainward GTX770 Phantom 4gb || PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750W Gold || Case: Thermaltake Urban T31 || SSD: Corsair Force 120GB || HDD: 1TB WD Black

This all depends on what you're gonna be using this computer for. I'm assuming from what I'm seeing its for gaming. Remember that 8GB of RAM is enough if you're going to be using this for gaming. RAM doesn't change the performance. Unless you want this for things such as video rendering then yeah. Also I don't think 4TB is necessary unless you're loading ALOT of files and game. I also say you should get an SSD for your OS, also please tell me you price range

Yeah I would say get an i5-4690k if possible, very simple to overclock if you're into that and just overall good performance, definitely get an SSD for bigger games and programs so it would much smoother. Do you need this computer for rendering and such?

using your pc for rendering and editing you would change the cpu and give yourself more ram but if you are using it for gaming i5 and 8gb ram is more than enough

try to get a xxxxK CPU or get a h97 motherboard. Z97 is more if you want to overclock h is also cheaper buuut i would get a i5-4670k or i5 4690k

The k in the part name is there to show that is is unlocked meaning you can push the multiplier up to what ever you want.  this means you can overclock it. a none K part can not be overclocked.

Needs Update

Will if you're rendering the RAM would making the biggest difference in the world, but if you're using it for just gaming and normal use, just go with 8GB, much cheaper and same performance, and since  you're not doing any videos i think you should go with a small hard drive, something like 1TB or 2TB unless you store ALOT and i mean ALOT of things. The GPU looks nice, I personally got the ASUS version but it differs.

thanks for this

there is a problem though, when you switch the site to Australia, some products appear unavailable (no price or store) is there any alternatives?
