Cooler Master RR-T612-20PK-R1 82.9 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler

Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory

A-Data XPG SX900 512GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

BitFenix Merc Alpha (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case

SeaSonic X Series 400W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Samsung SH-224DB/RSBS DVD/CD Writer

Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro (OEM) (64-bit)

$1841.00

For those of you that don't know me I live in Australia. If you don't know what he wants to for this for all I have for you is one word, read. Now I want you guys to do better with around $1,900 AUD. I look forward to your replies. Oh and I should mention he's an absolute AMD fanboy

Cheers guys :D

First of all weird build.

Tell him that if he is looking for energy efficiency he won't find it with AMD.

Intel cpu e.g. 4690k if he wants to OC, 4590/4690 if he doesn't

Intel motherboard H97/Z97 depends on whether or not he is overclocking.

8gbs of RAM

Slightly bigger PSU e.g. 500 watt or 600 watt

Small ssd and a HDD unless he REALLY wants to go full retard sdd.

Probably different cpu cooler, not too sure about that though.

I would make you a list but I am at work currently

CPU: Intel Core i5 4460 | GPU: XFX r9 280x DD BLACK OC EDITION | RAM: 8gb Kingston HyperX Fury 1600Mhz | Mobo: Gigabyte h97n-WIFI | PSU: EVGA 600B | Case: Cooler Master Elite 120 | Cooler: Stock intel | SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120gb | Storage: WD 150 gb

CPU: Intel Core i7 4710MQ | GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 850M | RAM: 8gb Corsair 1600Mhz | Mobo: Metabox WA50SJ Motherboard | Case: Metabox WA50SJ case | Cooler: Stock | SSD: Sandisk 256gb

Might as well get a Pentium 3258 if he's gonna get that low end of a CPU

the Pentium will for sure beat a 4 core piledriver chip

Linux "nerd".  If I helped you please like my post and maybe add me as a friend :)  ^_^!

@alby800 a few things AMD fanboy (idiot) but more ram makes your PC faster (his logic) less watts is more energy efficient (again his logic) SSD means more frames (his logic isn't great) and finally Intel sucks (more shitty logic)

Errrr

Well if he has to get AMD the build is fine

minus the 16gb of ram... no point to go beyond 8 for games

first off the power supply even it's platinum it can't handle the load and secondly if he's such a AMD fanboy he can wait till AMD launches the R9 3XX series

lol well time to get a partpicker

Unfortunately he knows very little about tech so he is running blind

But ram makes your PC faster (he has no tech logic)

that only applys when you don't have a descreet GPU and depending on the apu and the ram to power the grapics, that's why GPU's have 4 GB of ram so you don't depend on the ram
