Alright, I'm waiting for my GTX 980 to get here and I have a question. The legendary edition of Skyrim is on sale for $11.55, but I can I even play it with the integrated graphics on my i7 4790K while I wait for my GPU to arrive? And if I can, would it be on 720p or 1080p? Furthermore, what settings?

That's for the i7 4770K. Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but the i7 4790K runs on Intel HD 4600 Integrated Graphics, which is a couple steps up from the i7 4770K's integrated graphics or so I think because I think that they use an upgraded version with the Haswell Refresh.

The i7 4770k also runs on HD 4600, idk if it's better on the i7 4790k cos it's newer though.

And you can play most games on 720p with like 40 fps-ish depending on the game on lowest settings. I can play battlefield 3 on lowest settings at 720p at 40-50fps on maps like caspian border, operation firestorm and kharg island. When it's seine crossing it drops to like 30-40fps which isn't great IMO.

It's the exact same iGPU.

The only difference between the 4770k and the 4790k is that the 4790k has a new TIM.

Can I allocate 8 GB of ram to the integrated graphics to increase performance?

The cpu will allocate all the RAM it needs.

But can I? Because the CPU generally uses only 3 to 4 GB because a feature of the BIOS tries to limit the maximum amount it uses.

That doesn't make any sense....

What makes you think the BIOS is limiting the amount of RAM the cpu can use?
