I've been running 2 screens (Monitor 1 and Monitor 2 in this post) for about a year, and recently acquired a third (Monitor 3).

When booting, Monitor 1 and 3 display the POST screen. Then those two switch off and Monitor 2 displays the login and OS. Only Monitor 2 is detected in the OS and Catalyst Control Center. I changed the cables around and had the same issue.

I uninstalled all of the drivers, restarted and Monitor 2 never turned on, only 1 and 3 worked, however they displayed the same thing and were detected as one panel in the Windows settings. After reinstalling the drivers I had the original issue.

This only occurred once I re-assembled the computer and first tried to run 3 screens.

Monitor 1 and 2 are using DVI cables, Monitor 3 uses a HDMI to DVI adapter, all out of a Sapphire Tri-X 290.

I have been able to use 3 screens out of the same ports before with no issue, however the third screen in that case was only temporary.

Any ideas on what may be wrong?

EDIT: Nevermind, most recently added monitor was causing the issue, replacement works fine with all three.

Doesn't Eyefinity require one of the monitors to be connected with Displayport?

Not with all of the recent AMD cards, and it isn't necessary for the 290. I'd used 3 monitors without Displayport before with no issue, but now they just aren't being detected.
