Hi guys,

Earlier today, this happened:

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/220193-dead-mobo-or-cpu/

So, since I need a working computer for school, I have been looking in replacement parts.

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/6dcsnQ

Those are the parts I was looking at getting, a g3258 and the msi z97 gaming 5 mobo with price match on NCIX.

Since most I will do is coding (1st year at uni) and gaming, I don't think I will need a super duper awesome CPU and the g3258 was selected for it's overclockability.

The Mobo was selected for the fact that it supports SLI, in case I desire to go SLI down the road.

I do have a couple questions however, I heard that broadwell, the next gen CPUs meant to be released later this year/early 2015 will run on z97 lga1150, is that true?

Also, does the G3258 come with a stock cooler, as I do not currently know what cooler I wish to buy for the CPU. I would like to go AIO, but since the g3258 doesn'T get real hot as seen in linus's devil canyon overclocking video I was thinking of simply going with an aftermarket aircooler.

So if you have any advice, make sure to give them to me.

Thanks

EDIT: Also, windows key, do I just need to put it back in, or do I need to call microsoft and waste a bunch of time?
