need a new monitor

so i have been a console gamer for years and i have now decided to switch to pc gaming  so i am still confused about getting  a TN or IPS panel since i have never used one before and i am not a hard core gamer so pls i really need your help cause i dont know which to choose from or even what resolution to get 1080p or 1440p since i have a gtx980.

For colour: get an IPS monitor

For high refresh rates, and low response time, get a TN panel monitor

 

As with all monitors, though, they're all different, you can get good colour with TN, and some IPS monitor's colour is just awful, it just depends.

 

As with your question of resolution, 1440p would be your best bet, as you'd probably need dual 980s in SLI for 4k to run smoothly :)
