Antimalware Service Executable behaving strangely

So I installed a new WD digital green yesterday and I just finished copying everything I needed on it.

The content was from a 3years old Green drive i had.

All of a suddent, Windows defender pops up telling me I have two potentially dangerous files on the my HDD. I looked at the file, they were keygen and authentification package i had for my old W7 installer. I choose to allow, and defender crashes.

Then , i reboot the computer and i notice a very high usage of my cpu, about 35%. On idle, my cpu usually barely run over 2-5%, so i was very surprised.

I go check in the task manager and realise that this Antimalware service executable is draining anywhere between 25-55% of my cpu and something like 25% of my ram. After a while i get this pop up again saying that the same file are dangerous. I log in to the admin account of W8, delete both files, and now everything is fine, cpu usage is back to around 2-5%.

Is it normal that this Windows defender takes over Half of my cpu power just to deal with 2 potentially dangerous files ?
