is it worth it?

hey guys its me again, well first let me thank you for this awesome community where you are allways getting help, you guys rock.

 

so here is the thing, i like to read books but i also would like to read them wherever i go, but some of them are either too big or too heavy to do so; well i was wondering if a kindle its worth the buy (the voyager actually), i mean is it a good product? or should i go for a tablet instead?..... so thats it i think, let me know what you guys think and thanks

kindles are great due to the backlight and the battery life is insane

the Kindle is awesome

its the LCD it uses or what ever it is just looks soo nice

I have a nook which is pretty similar to it and I love it it's amazing.

For reading I would definitely recommend the kindle, the e ink screen is designed for reading text, it is even readable in bright sunlight and the battery life is incredible.

 

edited more info: Reading on a tablet with a high pixel density (DPI) LCD screen isn't a bad experience either, but I wouldn't recommend it for long term use, the light it emits can be tiring on the eye after a while, the screen becomes significantly less visible in bright sunlight and the battery life will be very short if you constantly keep the screen on.

A couple of years ago my eyes succumbed to some kind of strain, what caused it? Light from a computer monitor, and that's basically the same as a tablet, so to answer your question, get an e-reader, you won't regret it! I have a kindle DX and I love it to bits, as someone already mentioned you can even read it in the sun, and the battery lasts for weeks (I've had it for 2 years now).
