Need Help Building New Computer

Todd Ster

Hey LTT and the community, Sorry if i am posting this in the wrong category :/

I was thinking of building my own custom gaming rig, but i was a bit stuck on what components i should use for it. I've made up a list components for my "soon to be gaming PC" and i was wondering if the the community could help me decide on what i should include in my build.

I am just gonna be using this PC to play video games at Very High quality with steady FPS. I'm not looking for the most beast gaming PC EVER but i want something awesome that will demolish every game at good standards. I may do the occasional video editing and use editing programs like Adobe Flash, Photoshop ETC. My price range is around $1500 - $2000, i don't wont to go over $2000 at all!

I am in Australia as well, so some of the prices for the components may be different from where you may be getting them from.

My preferences for the computer if it is possible:

- Red and Black Theme, Or a white build not to fussed

- Decent CPU that will handle games and the occasional editing ETC. (whats affordable anyway)

- High end GPU not over $700

- Not fussed about AMD, Nvidia or Intel

- 16gb of Ram

- SSD and HD

- ATX build

The Store i will be probably buying everything from is http://www.msy.com.au

These are the two builds im considering at the moment.

Go with Intel. The reason I say this is your getting into the high end Gaming rigs. Intel just preforms better at this level. It is slightly more but in the end you will be happier. Also avoid Crossfire and SLI. They work fine but you have more heat and other issues with power consumption. insted of two 280X get one 290X or even a 780. At 1080 a overclocked i5 4690K and a GTX 780 will out preform a AMD8350 with the same 780

This was a build i did last weekend for a mate of mine if you want to check it out.

https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=wish_lists&wlcId=344050&action=wish_lists

Its very similar build.

Thanks MATE! Really helpful!

I would of loved to go with MSI because of their sexy color scheme and how they perform, but MSY does't sell MSI for some reason.... Oh well

Thanks for the build mate i will seriously consider it! Thanks heaps!

All he has to do is cross reference the prices at his store and tweak to suit. For $2000 he can get a really good Intel system with crossfire or SLI. He doesn't have to do 290 CrossX he can do 285 CrossX for a fraction or one 290x and still destroy any game right now at high to ultra.
