Hey everyone,

I built my first PC last year and throughout my LAN adventures I feel that I should build a smaller PC. My current specs are:

Core i5-3570k

AsRock Z77 Extreme4

120GB Kingston HyperX SSD

Corsair C70 Case

Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600 MHz

Corsair AX750 Power Supply

Corsair H100i

I had a GTX 670 that I sold to my friend and a 1 TB WD Green drive from years ago that died on me.

So, what I was thinking, was downsizing to a Corsair 250D case, a P8Z77I-Deluxe mobo from Asus, and grabbing myself another HDD and a 770 or possibly a 290. (CUDA tho... difficult decisions)

This PC will be for video editing and more importantly, gaming.

Would you guys just sell everything off and start fresh or just use what you got now? What would be better off in the long run? This PC will be used throughout college over the next 4 years.

Hopefully will have a fair bit of money, 18th birthday is in a month.

Corsair 5000D / Intel Core i7-12700KF / Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 360mm / MSI Meg Z690 Ace / RTX 3080 Ti Founder's Edition / 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200 MHz CL32 / Corsair RM1000X / 1TB ADATA SX8200 Pro (Boot) / 2TB Acer Predator GM7000 Gen 4 (Storage) / MSI MPG271QRX-QD / MSI Mag 274QRF-QD / LG CX 55" / G-Pro Wireless

Ain't that board a little overkill? You could branch out and get yourself a better case to work with.

Actually that sounds like a good idea. (I hope you're referring to the Z77 board I have now) I think I'll do that. I'm excited now I hate my case

Hey TristanDaVoulas

If you hate the current case, change it. If the 250D has caught your eye, go for it. It seems reasonable, but you could still look at some reviews. If you are looking for a gaming HDD, you might consider our Black line (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=760), because of its performance. It is the recommended solution for gamers and creative individuals. However, since you have a 120GB SSD, may be a standard drive of the Blue line will also be just fine for your needs.

Hope this helps,

Titania_WD
