Hello everyone, i am thinking about a little upgrade on an old PC i sometimes use for little gaming.

Now i have an  ATI Radeonicon1.png HD4800, and it starts to grow very old for gaming, even if i am not and hardcore gamer.

I am wondering if, having 100€ budget, a graphic card upgrade can do a big difference, i actually think so but i am kindly ask u some advices.

The PC is a Core2Duo E8400 @3ghz on an Asusicon1.png P5Q-pro mainboard with 4gb RAM.

Thanks u very much for helping me.

No other suggestions? Can be possible that, with a R7 260x i would notice no improvement at all in gaming experience (considering im not an hardcore gamer and i just want to use high definition textures without problems), because of my CPU is only a dual core?

Hi there...

I suggest going for a GTX 750 or R7 250/R7 260(X)... The cards might be bottlenecked by the rest of your system though so you might want to upgrade it when you see fit... You can always use the old parts for an HTPC or NAS server or even sell them off...

thanks for the answer. the fact now is that with high res textures the pc goes very slow, and when i set them to medium all is smooth (well, not 120fps but smooth enough for me) so i was thinking that with 1gb of ram DDR5 instead of 512mb of DDR3 things can improve... but maybe i am expecting too much from my sistem...

i just would love to play 1920x1080 with high res textures.

There's no DDR5 yet and DDR4 just came out... You might need a new motherboard and CPU if you're planning on getting a decent system///

You can ask for parts suggestions in the New Builds and Planning Section of the forums...

Just remember to state your budget, location, and purpose...

i am planning to build a new pc around the end of the year, but i will use it only for work.

my question is: may i get a nice (not hard core) gaming experience with high res textures on 1920x1080 buying a 260x 1gb video card?

thank u for the answers and suggestions
