Recently, i got my new Intel Pentium G3258 processor along with a motherboard to overclock it, the MSI H81M-P33 (Yes it can overclock even though its h81). I was following linus's guide to overclock it yesterday. I turned the voltage to 1.25 and then set the core clock to 33, Which i think, correct me if im wrong, is 3.3GHz. I saved my settings and rebooted. Apon rebooting, all i got was a black screen with a 99 in the bottom right corner, i did some research on a different computer and i thought i broke it for a while. I then managed to reset the BIOS and get it to work again, But now im afraid to change anything in the bios because i really dont want to break it, and would rather not damage it either. So getting back on it, i come here to ask what to do. Because i dont want to not overclock it, Thats the whole reason i overclocked it. Please help :>

You didn't need to make a 2nd post about it

But what you can do is in the BIOS revert it back to stock settings, if you really feel the need to OC it, look at some tutorials for overclocking on the H81 Chipset, but you should really have a Z97 board, since it's haswell refresh.

If you still want to OC, then go into windows and double check all of your drivers are updated for the mobo. If they are then go back and give it another shot, maybe try the voltage a little lower than 1.25v to see if the problem was in that. Keep the core clock at 33 though for the first try.

Have you checked to see if there is a bios update for your motherboard that is specific for the newer Haswell refresh processors?

Mainboard ASUS Maximus VII Hero | CPU i5-4690K @ 4.7GHz | RAM Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x4GB | Storage Kingston V300 SSD 240GB & 120GB, WD Black 1TB HDD | GPU EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0

So i tinkered around with it, i used this guide: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1722630/intel-god-quick-dirty-guide-4ghz-haswell.html but i set the multiplier to 35 instead of 44 at first. But when i get into windows and try to benchmark it, cpu-z shows its running at 3.2GHz still. And shutting down and going into the bios it still shows the 35 multiplier.
