I am planning a PC build to enter into an auction for my school. There will be around 400 attendants from around my community.

Scarcely anyone in the audience will be a computer geek, so I've found it hard to come up with a list of parts that would make it appealing and practical for the "average Joe".

-- It should look slick but not flashy

-- It shouldn't be overpowered ( might not be a gamer who buys this )

-- budget: <$1000 ( I'm not personally funding this )

What I've come up with so far:

I know I don't have many details, but I really appreciate all suggestions

The Wannabe is no longer. Replaced by the Flotilla. If you replace every part of a computer is it still the same computer?
