@c99patrick is scared(?) to make a new thread....

He PMed me regarding this build.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6wJNsY

He plays Dota, Lol, and some AAA titles along the way.

I think he'll be better off getting an AMD GPU since you get better performance and 3 free AAA titles with it. (He lives in the Philippines)

The CPU also seems a bit weak, especially for AAA titles.

What would you tweak in this build?

His budget is $650 max.

I really cant say, because i have no reference to other hw prices so i will just write down.

fx 6300

mobo with heatsinked vrm

no cpu cooler (yet)

cheapest stick or two sticks of 8 gb ram that is from good brand (cruicial good), doesnt even need to be heatsinked

750ti only if it is cheaper than r9 265

case is good but if you can, you can buy corsair 200r, mATX is cooler master n200, there is NZXT source 210 pretty cheap

That's not a K series CPU, so you can't overclock.

An i5 is miles better than a pentium, so you won't even need to overclock. (Until workloads get a bit more demanding)

Go with this build, add in a SSD later, etc.

Hmmm. Is r9 270x powerful enough on a 1920x1080 resolution? If it is, this might be it.

The 270X can play most games like BF4 on high at about 40 FPS iirc

look for reviews for better detail

I would go for the pentium tho. Overclock the pentium to 4.6-ish ghz, and boom. Also it is chepaper and overclocking is fun. xD

It's a dual core CPU... Also there is no guarantee that you'll get a good enough silicone that will let you overclock up to 4.6Ghz with no stability issues.

A Quad core CPU is ideal currently. Within the next 2 years, i7s will be the thing for gaming with DX 12 and a broad Mantle support.

Games currently only need strong cores.

They don't really use many threads yet.

A Quad-Core is a must I'll say.

CoD Ghosts, sees a huge difference between Quad/Tri and dual core.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is not optimized for quad-core CPUs. While the game scales well on four CPU cores, there are no performance differences between tri-core and quad-core systems. The performance difference between dual-cores and tri-cores, on the other hand, is around 9-11fps.

http://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance-analyses/call-of-duty-ghosts-pc-performance-analysis/

Not to mention games like Crysis utilize 8 threads.

It's your computer so choose what you want. If you're going to upgrade to an i5 later, than go for it. LoL only utilizes 2 cores so...
