Can't shutdown my pc

Hello, Linustechtips fourm!

 

I have just recently encountered a problem with my pc, it won't shutdown.  The "shutting down" screen just keeps on going until I hold in the power button and manually shut it down.  I already updated my system to the latest windows update and I am lost on what to do.  Any help will be appreciated!

This type of issue is usually no cause for alarm because they are generally a software issue.

Try booting into safe mode and do a clean shut-down from there.

had exact same issue here was my fix in regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management   ClearPageFile at Shutdown

set to 0

 

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l  WaitToKillServiceTimeout
set to 1000
