WD green problem

Bought 2 WD green 1.5 TB 7200 rpm HDD to put in a new system I'm building.  Got them installed last night and on power up they both caught fire in the exact same spot.  I am baffled never had anything like this happen before. 

 

My new setup is 3770k in a MSI z77a-gd65 gamer, a gtx 780, a 128gb samsung 840 pro series, 16gb of corsair dominator, a 750w 80plus bronze from rosewill. 

 

Everything else seems to be in good shape.  Just trying to see if anyone else has heard of an issue like this before so I can try and take precautions with the new ones I shall be getting.

Were they new drivers or second hand/refurbs?

It was instant.  They appeared to be in good shape, no noticable dents or anything.  I'm hopping it was something involving bad soldering or the likes.  Everything else in my rig is working like it should.
