is the cooler master 212 evo really that superior that it has to be in every build plan i see?

Its very good for its price. 

 

Something like an NH-D14 / NH-D15 / H100 / Seidon 240m / etc... will all outclass it however.

For the $30, I would say yes. But if you're looking for pure performance, there's far superior coolers out there.

only reason i asked is that theres like 12 options that are less expensive many of them made by brands that i would say are high quality brands and for like a buck more you can get the 212 plus
