Dead Rising 2, GFWL does it work?

its on sale right now, and ive heard some stories that its completely borked, its switching to steamworks in the the spring but can anyone who has it tell me if it works. Specifically that game, i know some still work, like Dark Souls.

When i played it (this was months ago) it worked as intended.

 

GFWL is horrible, i remember when Warhammer 40k: Dawn Of War 2 was GFWL, that soon changed and went over to Steam. So much better.

I'd like to play co-op with my brother but i heard that's a no go ;\ i guess ill give it a shot
