If you want an overpowered build then i guess we can't change your mind on that build, although i would reccomend buying a HDD for generall storage and games instead of 2 SSDs and if this is only for gaming you could change the cpu to an i5 (although persoanlly i miss my i7) and consider only getting 8gb of ram everything else is fine

Yes Yes Legalize Gay Marriage sure, but have you ever considered Weaponizing Gay?

CPU: I5 4690 3.5ghz || MOBO: MSI B85-G43 Gaming Board || RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengance Pro - Red || GPU: Gainward GTX770 Phantom 4gb || PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750W Gold || Case: Thermaltake Urban T31 || SSD: Corsair Force 120GB || HDD: 1TB WD Black

Just want to point out that this topic belongs in 'New Builds and Planning', not in 'General Discussion'

It may not be overkill depending on what you do. What kind of programs/games will you be running on this rig?

It's not necessary to get 2 SSDs (I'm assuming you'd be running them in RAID 0). Just get one and spend the extra money on a hard drive to store music, videos, movies, or whatever big files you need to store.

Other than that it looks pretty good to me...

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

Well if you're only gonna be playing older games, than you may as well go for a 760 instead of a 780. The 760 is well prepared to handle even some of the latest games at full graphics (farcry 3 will get around 48fps on ultra methinks), and methinks the games that you are going for are a lot less needy than farcry 3. This will save you around 2 to 300 bucks. The processor is good, as well as pretty much everything else (heck even the 780 is good, I was just recommending the 760 because for older games I don't think you need as much power as the 780 unless you are playing on 3 screens or something). So yeah, pretty good build. However I do agree with AustinKZombie, you should probably add a HDD for game storage, as some games (mainly MMO's and RPG's) can take up up to 50gb of space just by themselves.

Hope it helped!
