Stupid/Funny screw up

Today i almost set my computer on fire, i have a NZXT cb-led20-bu sleeved led kit. I decided i didn't like it in the expansion slot so i put it in the bottom of optical drive bay and i guess two of the solder point connected via the case or something cuz the lead cored from the psu melted the plastic coating and sleeving. lol just about shit my self! had to pull the plug outa the back and am now trying to rewire it.

ya got it in time no damage just the power wire from the psu to the light board

Did you PSU not cut off when it shorted? Most PSUs I have shorted (accidentally of course) have shut off automatically, I would be surprised if a good PSU didn't do that. Sounds pretty dangerous though, it pays to check your wiring and not leave too much bare wire.

Last time a computer burnt in front of my eyes it was an optical drive (DVD) that failed and shorted the PSU, which instead of stopping it decided to start a meltdown inside the case.

no psu dident turn off i hadda pull the plug. maybe somethings wrong with it.

i know that gut wrenching feeling, When I was sleeving my psu I accidentally put a double wire in the wrong way resulting in the exploding of the capacitor connected to the cable!
