What mobo do you have. CPU might use more than what mobo was designed for.

It's a CPU thing.  AMD usually has a lower min. then intel does. which r9 are we talking about?

270x

270x

Then it's an CPU probably. AMD fx's had a a lower minimum then Intel does. nothing to be extreme worried about. just overclock it a bit.

Msi - 970A-g46

That board isn't very good for OC'ing the FX 8xxx Cpu's :S

When under load and high power draw, to prevent damage to the MOSFETS of the board, the bios tricks the CPU so that it throttles. What you're experiencing is most likely throttling by the board, I would drop the OC and voltage a little :)

For any of you thinking about using or even recommending the MSI 970A-G46 motherboard for use with the AMD FX 8350, be careful. I just recently emailed MSI, and they sent me a very intriguing response. Here's screenshots of the email:

i experience the same with fx 6300 and his radeon r9 270x with all default clock. my suspect will be the AMD driver. Before i use CCC 14.4, resulting in 29-42 fps in bf 4 ultra but sometimes it went down to like 5 fps then went back to 30. I uninstall that one and install the 13.12 driver which is older. After that the fps stable at 30 or so..
