$1800 Build Thoughts

Crvfts

So I have been carefully planning my build for like the past year (this is the time i decided I want to get serious). I would like the "PC Masters" if you will, constructive criticism of my build :) so lets start

Case: Cooler Master Storm Stryker

CPU: AMD FX8350

GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 780 SC w/ ACX

Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

PSU: Corsair RM 750w 80 Gold+

Memory: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Blue (1600MHz)

HDD: Western Digital Black 3TB

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO

Cooling: Corsair H100i

While we are at it, I guess i'll give you my peripherals

Mouse: Razer Deathadder 2013 Edition

Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 Edition

Mousepad: Razer Goliathus Control Edition Mousepad (Medium)

Headsets: Razer Kraken 7.1

Monitor: *Still not sure, deciding between 1440p and 1080p (leaning a bit more to 1080p)

@vern021 I would like to keep this amd unless one of you can REALLY convince me to go intel, Also amd is $200 cheaper so i can put that money into other things like the GPU or MoBo

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RZRFCJ there you go :P sorry I'm kind of a noob at forum pages :/ but i just added periphials and all that, before that the computer was $1500 in just parts BUT since before this I was only using tigerdirect, newegg, and amazon that is why it was a bit more money and that is what made it out to be $1800. Also I will decide if i should go with the rog monitor. I saw Linus's review on it and it looked amazing the only thing is, it costs $800 o-o

I'll criticize your build here.
1. FX-8320 is only a underclocked 8350. When overclocked there's not much of a difference between their performance.
2. In gaming, you only need 8GB of RAM. Dual channel is preferred but you can also buy a single stick then buy another in the future if 8GB is not enough
3.Gigabyte MOBOs are better IMO.
4. You can get a 780Ti instead of the 780 for raw performance but 780 is the sweet spot for single GPU perfomance.
5. Try to reconsider the Enthoo Pro since it's very noob friendly and watercool/aircool friendly.
6. GET an SSD. :D
7. Get a Sennheiser headphones and modmic instead of the 7.1. Although if you're not an "audiophile" and will practically use your headphones purely for gaming specifically FPS, get the Kraken 7.1(I own one myself)

8GB of memory is sufficient for a gaming system. The build needs an ssd. WD black are not worth the premium in my opinion. Finally, an R9 290X is a better value than the GTX 780.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
