CPU and GPU naming schemes

Guest

Talking about names like Athlon (wth is an Athlon?) and Hawaii (somewhat fitting considering the heat the cards put out), Maxwell (who is Max and is he doing well?)

The most badass name I came across is the AMD GPU naming of Pitcairn .

What do you think of the names?

Pitcairn sounds like it demands authority. Whatever it may be.

Funniest so far for me is Sandy and Ivy bridge, I always think of literal bridges made from those 2 materials.

skylake is just water under AMD's bridge ;)

If we just pour the water of the Skylake into a Devil's Canyon.!

I think I saw a video back in 2012 where this guy received a package from Intel which he thought was a 3770K, it turned out to be literally poison ivy or something. Does anyone remember what this was from?

Joke's on AMD.

If the lake is in the sky and there is a bridge over it; then the bridge would be LOWER than the river since it's inverted.

I'm not insulting anyone; I'm just being condescending. There is a difference, you see...
