LCD on case - System performance/control etc

Hello All!!

 

 

First of all I am new here and i have recently (re)started my own mod. A complete custom built PC case... I am working on the presentation (as i am to post on the forums my buid log)

 

After designing the base (the lower part of the case) i am thinking of ways to build up....

 

the case is rather enormous (it's 39 cm wide give or take) and i have an 15,4" LCD from an old laptop that i was thinking of stripping it off there and adding it to the front of my case....

 

I Need your help:

 

Haven't yet decided but i could add a second motherboard in my case almost anywhere and connect it to my LCD (use Synergy and make the secondary PC work as a server) with the case LCD as a 'status/information' screen or... i could use it for my main PC and keep parameters (i.e. temp, usage, rainmeter animations) Or should I make it work with a raspberry pi/arduino to show some independent information - maybe buy a couple of temp sensors or air movement, water flow (for whenever i will do watercooling) ????

 

What other options do I have? Having it as a 3rd or 4th screen will be a little annoying because the thing will be under the desk (i mean it has its own castor weels)!!!

 

Are there any software to show PC stats? Other than rainmeter skins... maybe with an independent temperature sensor?

Mount a laptop Lcd to side of case? That sounds cool I guess.

The lcd will be mounted on the front of the case... The whole thing is on weels... i am telling you it's going to be a HUGE case
