Is this just for gaming? If it is and you won't be doing rendering/encoding then go with an Intel CPU. They have stronger single threaded performance, but less cores. If you want to encode or render things on a regular basis then the FX wins hands down at that price, but just for gaming go Intel.

if OP has budget for i5/fx8 i dont hink the g3258 is a good option

 

I5 is just better, dont even really have to get a k-series.

you could look at an i5-4560, this cpu is locked, but it has better single threaded performance then a FX8350.

 

However it highly depends on the games you play basicly.

If you play games like skyrim, dayZ, lol, wow intel defintely has an edge.

 

But there are also games on which there is not much of a diffrence between intel and amd.

Games like tombraider, bioshock, need for speed, BF4, Crysis 3.

In those games a better GPU still makes more sence.
