fx 8350 or intel?

should i get an AMD  fx 8350 or should i get an intel processor? i dont have the budget to spend anythong more than wha an 8350 would cost me so is it possible to get the same\ better performance from an intel processor at the same price? my purpose is purely gaming

if you are purely gaming a 4690k will kick a fx 8350's ass any day of the year

Is this just for gaming? If it is and you won't be doing rendering/encoding then go with an Intel CPU. They have stronger single threaded performance, but less cores. If you want to encode or render things on a regular basis then the FX wins hands down at that price, but just for gaming go Intel.

If your'e just gaming, you might wanna look at the g3258. Good price to performance ratio if you are willing to overclock.

if OP has budget for i5/fx8 i dont hink the g3258 is a good option

 

I5 is just better, dont even really have to get a k-series.

The i5 4690k is way better imho.

you could look at an i5-4560, this cpu is locked, but it has better single threaded performance then a FX8350.

 

However it highly depends on the games you play basicly.

If you play games like skyrim, dayZ, lol, wow intel defintely has an edge.

 

But there are also games on which there is not much of a diffrence between intel and amd.

Games like tombraider, bioshock, need for speed, BF4, Crysis 3.

In those games a better GPU still makes more sence.
