Hello,

I just got a new Quadro k4200 from PNY, plopped it into my Rampage Black Edition in the 4th slot (PCIe x16) and I can not get Windows to recognize its' existence.  In the first PCIe slot I have a Titan Black EVGA superclocked which works fine.

I have switched the cards around, and put the Titan Black in the 4th slot and the Quadro in the 1st.  The Quadro was recognized and the Titan Black dissapeared.  So I know the Quadro works, just can't get the computer to see both of them.

Thank you for your help  :)

specs

Rampage Black Edition - BIOS version 0702

Quadro k4200 (2nd slot PCIe)

I'm a bit of a newb so don't rule out anything super obvious.

In the BIOS do I need to changfe anything when a new GPU is plugged in?

The way I have been checking if the comnputer sees the card is by opening GPU-z and seeing if I can select it.  Also, in the Device Manager it doesn't pop up.  Is there any softeware setting I'm missing to activate the PCIe slot?

I am no expert so maybe i am wrong.

Just a few questions. Do you want from these cards to work simultaniously or one at a time?

If simultaniously, thats imposible since you need SLI bridge and NVIDIA made it so only the SAME models can do that. That means 2x the same GPU.

thats what i read and heard also from Linuses videos but i might be wrong

If one at a time then i dont see the point in buying 2 GPUs

They will be running simultaneously, not on SLI.

The Quadro supports 10bit monitor for color grading - so I want to run monitor off that.  Leaving the Titan Black open for transcoding/processing.

Many applications support dual GPU including Nuke, Premiere, Vray Rendering, Resolve, etc.  I don't use SLI.

Check the bios and ensure all the slots are on, especially the forth/third on some boards can be set differently when they run off a different chipset.
