Hello i have a really annoying problem with my monitor which is that when i've fired up my computer and got to the desktop my former brightness, contrast, colour, etc settings have been reset to default and in about half a mintue the screen starts flashing 10 times in around 2 second intervals and when it stops, my image settings are back.

It can't be the graphics driver because i already have the latest non-beta update installed via geforce experience, i don't know if it's of any help but i do have dual monitors one of which is a 40 inch hd tv and the other one is a 1080p 144hz monitor.

I can't find any reasonable explanation for this problem on google since all of the ones i've seen is for laptops and i've got a desktop.

Is there anyone who could help me fix this irritating and time-wasting issue?

First of all,  you could try reinstalling your graphics driver.  Also check what programs are starting with the computer and run Malwarebytes and Avast for viruses.  Lastly something could be wrong with your monitor's hardware, or more likely software in which case I would contact the manufacturer assuming it is still under warrenty.

Have you tried any other monitors?

idk thats what happened to me when I look at 2 different framerates... it's probably just an aura

I'm totally lost...  Looking at two different refresh rates doesn't cause one of them to look like it's 3D and you aren't wearing glasses.

Also try swapping out the cable (HDMI or VGA or whatever)

Ive got that problem too but my settings on my monitor do not go back to default.  I believe it has to do with Razer Synapse.  I run into this problem every time I cold start the computer. Meaning, I will work then come home and turn the computer on.  My monitor has to be plugged in and out of the power supply thing Apple provides (Apple 30" HD Cinema Display is my monitor) (looks like a usb connection).  Then the Razer mouse that I have plugged into my Razer keyboard has to be unplugged then plugged in again for it to work as well. Sometimes just unplugging and plugging the mouse takes care of the monitor too.  I have decided that it is razer synapse causing these problems.... but what do I know.  I'm too busy to change settings so I just go through the unplug/plug routine everyday and wear out my usb connections....

There is a setting somewhere in windows where you can activate your usb ports to not hibernate or something and I already did this too.  I made them fully functional or whatever on startup and Synapse still acts up.

My problem seem to have something to do with BenQ's Display Pilot's compatibility with TVs because when i have both screens connected the flashing procedure is like normal and when it's done it has changed the multi display settings so that only my monitor is activated. When i have only the monitor connected it only flashes once and does the thing with the image quality. When only the TV is connected it also flashes only once but then it deactivates it. I have tried using the monitor with the hdmi cable that is usually plugged in to the TV but then it flashes once without doing anything to the image quality and without deactivating.
