won't programs make my frames drop. wouldn't a capture card prevent frame drops

A capture card is used to capture video from an external device, like a console or a seperat pc. If you wanted to record the footage from your gaming pc through a capture card you would have to get a second computer to put the capture card in. :P

It is h97, the newer version of h87.

 

You can use fraps for recording and with a powerful pc you shouldn't see too many frame drops, and if you want to livestream use obs.

OBS is also quite good at recording if you set it up in the setting and have enough power.

im able to record 40+ fps while playing very cpu intensive games on my horrrrrrible laptop.
