So I have a 4790k running at 4.6ghz 1.2 volts. Cooled by an h105 with stock fans. If I run blend or large fft or something like occt or aida64 temps never get above 80c. If I run small fft. 95-100c. I'm not to comfortable with that. Even if small fft is kinda unrealistic. Thoughts?

The only things I can think of would be to, down clock, get better fans for the cooler, or a different one. Your luck in the silicon lottery may not have been as good as others.

do not use prime 95 to stress test haswell cpus this has been said 99 999 times already

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Unfortunately

1.2v is a low voltage and your cpu cooler should have no problem handling this kind of overclock as it sits right now the problem is prime95 who add unwanted voltages to your CPU while stressing it and it can damage it or even kill the chip i'd suggest you do your stress testing with intel extreme tuning utility instead as this one was design by intel to test your intel CPU.

Prime95 is perfectly fine to use with Haswell/DC. You just have to set your voltage to MANUAL/OVERRIDE. Failure to set your voltage to manual/override will cause excessive heat and volts to be sent through your processor potentially causing damage and death.

Your processor does get hot because it is a 4 core 8 thread CPU. You want to keep your temps below 85. Make sure that the pump and fans on your H105 are running at an acceptable speed. 85-100% for Pump and 50-100% for fans.
