Low fps on Minecraft with a fairly powerful build

LittlePeters

I can't seem to get above 70 fps on mminecraf. I'm sure I'm using more than enough memory, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I also am sure I have the 64 bit version of java. My specs are as follows:

-fx 8350

-Sapphire R9 290

-16 GB of gskill ripjaws ram

It's just Java.

HP Pavilion p007tx (i5 4210u, gt840m, 8GB DDR3 memory and a 1 TB HDD that makes cool sounds when booting up)

Since my laptop can't run modern games too well I use a PS4

 it is running JAVA lol

That is enough said :D Crappy java ..

Do you have used Opifine or MCPatcher?

If you really want to get more fps i would recommend Optifine Ultra and play with the settings. After that you can also use their debug display to maybe find the bottleneck - or at least a hint what it could be.

64-bit java? Then download.

If using a Mod, make sure to allocate more RAM.
