I'm making a video desktop background in 1440p (cuz there are none...) using dreamscape. The only problem is that shadowplay outputs in .mp4 and it needs to be .wmv to be used as a background.

I've tried a few converters but all have something I dislike. (WMM (and WMP weirdly) doesn't work with 1440p mp4s even with updated codecs.., and the rest I have tried don't satisfy this criteria: Output in 1440p, remain at 60fps, and not loose a lot of quality.

any suggetions?

Do you have any video editing software, like Sony Vegas or anything like that? That's what I use whenever I want a video to be rendered in a different format.

Also, it doesn't need to be Sony Vegas or anything, you might be able to find a good free video editor somewhere that renders in other formats.

Hmm yes, this seems to support it... Although, (i'm prolly just blind :D) I don't see where you can change the output type to .wmv

when you download it drag in the blank spot than there should be a drop down menu above and you can change it to wmv.

Use AppGeeker converter, you adjust the 1440p in its settings window manually.
