My budget is 400$.

for games that support 5.1, 5.1 lol

 

if you want a 5.1 setup for $400 the logitech z906 is a pretty good choice.

 

you do have to place the speakers properly thou, 2 at front left/right, 1 in the center, 2 at rear left/right, and sub near where you are sitting

 

i've seen too many 5.1 setup with a row of 5 speakers on the desk beside each other.

 

a lot of ppl opt for 2.1 or 2.0 because it's easier to place.
