I want to see how creative you folks are at making the most powerful Rig for the least amount of money.

Here's the idea: Construct a list of components that total near US$1000 (CAD$1036.80), (£661.51), though I understand prices are a bit different, (I know Nvidia cards are about the same £ to $ despite the pound being worth more).

Let's keep this fun, with minimal fanboy flaming, let's keep synthetic benchmarks in mind. The purpose of this computer will be Equal CPU and GPU usage, say Gaming and Video Editing. You'll want a full system, minus OS and peripherals. DVD drive not required. Picture something like this:

CPU:  Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($234.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard:  MSI Z77A-G45 ATX  LGA1155 Motherboard  ($114.20 @ Amazon)
Video Card:  MSI Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card  ($310.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Case:  NZXT Source 210 Window ATX Mid Tower Case  ($51.07 @ Newegg)
Total: $922.37
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Looks good. Xeon processors aren't really geared for gaming but it should perform well anyhow :)

Well, the point is it's basically a locked i7, since it has Hyperthreading, at an i5 Price

I would upgrade the motherboard to G45, G41/43 are a but meh on the power phaseing and cooling.

Change will be made, since it's a trivial $30 :)
